The leading root cause of food waste along the supply chain is the consumer.
Our app will change the consumer mindset; reducing household waste while educating consumers and heightening their advocacy, setting Canada up to meet SDG 12.3. Our app has the ability to change the culture around food waste, having broad-reaching implications on the supply chain. In the future, the Youth Food Waste Warriors (YFWW) can be introduced.
Essentially modeled after the Youth Climate Leaders, it will be a network of young people across Canada that are passionate about reducing food waste for both environmental and economic reasons.
As part of Fruitfully's charitable arm, a percentage of revenue will be donated to help the YFWW implement solutions toward policy issues.
It is time we deploy high-impact and wide-reaching solutions across the Canadian food supply chain, and what better way to achieve this than through the next generation who will lead us to a more sustainable future?
